Come stay with us for the Buccleuch Experience while your horses stay in a knowledgeable home, their needs being met by your welcoming hosts Lesley and Johnston Brodie. They are both experienced in horsemanship with a history of breeding, training and competing horses. The 80-acre farm is situated at the most scenic part of the Southern Upland Way, nestling at the foot of the Tweedsmuir Hills along the banks of the river Moffat.
Four large stables are available with plenty of good quality grazing paddocks. Individual turnout available. Shavings, hay and hard feed can be supplied. Small parts of the fencing are Rylock netting can easily be cordoned off by electric fencing. Spacious and secure tack room. Ample parking space for trailers and lorries.
You’ll have direct access to the Southern Upland Way and to hours of forestry rides including canter tracks. Enjoy hacking on the farm grounds along the river Moffat and pop over some of the 15 cross-country fences that are dotted all over the farm including water jumps (soon to be 30 in total!). A high quality 43m x 25m indoor arena is also available if the weather does not play ball!

Not only is our wee Hotel absolutely biker friendly acting as a safe haven with private motorcycle parking, but we have designed a number of routes that navigate this picturesque landscape. All with their own personalised names, Bucc n’ Dippy, Bucc n’ Throttle and the Bucc n’ Twisty being self explanatory.
These routes have been tried and tested and many a motorist has enjoyed uniqueness of each individual trail. Make The Buccleuch your base for a few days and start your adventure. These personalised routes will be handed to you on request at the reception desk.

We have free wireless internet access throughout the hotel for our residents. We have encrypted the access for your browsing safety so if you require a connection please enqure with us at reception. Within minutes you will be roaming the world wide web.

Moffat enjoys a wee little gym within walking distance of the Hotel. It also hosts an indoor court that can be adapted for Basketball, Badminton and Football as well as a number of classes for other activities being held.
If this interests you we can book for you in advance however their fees do change from time to time and per activity.
