We’ve put together this page to highlight a few of the fantastic activities our region and surrounding area has to offer:
Walking
Moffat, Scotland’s first “Walkers are Welcome town” and the surrounding Moffat hills present a haven for walkers of all abilities, the clean Scottish air, stunning scenery and timeless beauty is awe inspiring. Whether for a day’s hiking or a short stroll in unspoilt countryside, Moffat is the perfect place to experience a truly memorable walking holiday.
Motorcycling
Dumfries & Galloway and the Borders have certainly developed a huge reputation among the motorcycle fraternity. If it’s quiet roads with twists and turns or sweeping bends with rolling beautiful scenery you’re after then the South of Scotland is the motorcyclist’s perfect playground. The average tourist, when thinking of Scotland, thinks of the Highlands. That means that the South tends to be a lot quieter as well as being one of the most unpopulated regions in the United Kingdom! The Buccleuch prides itself as being the main hub to exploring the South of Scotland.

Mountain Biking & Road Cycling
The South of Scotland could almost be regarded as a Mountain Biker’s Mecca! We are so fortunate to have some amazing forests and scenery in our vast regions which has laid the perfect platform for a huge amount of development in Mountain Biking in the area. One such development is the 7 Stanes, a set of world class trails spanning through 7 different forestry centres.
If hurtling down Black and red routes is your thing or maybe just a casual peddle along a blue route is more your cup of tea then look no further than the South of Scotland.
